Arrid Extra Dry Clear Gel Not Discontinued: Find It Online (Plus A Non-Staining Alternative)

When you need a deodorant or antiperspirant that works, it’s easier to find Arrid Extra Dry Clear Gel today than it has been at any point in the past several years. While it’s not as widely available in stores as it was a few years ago and you may not find it at your local grocery or big box store, you can order it online.

The problems locating Arrid Extra Dry Clear Gel through the years aren’t related to pandemic supply chain problems because they started years before that. It’s simply not stocked at many stores anymore.

If you’re a fan of this popular deodorant but found that it causes white stains and other damage to your clothing, there’s good news for you as well. Here’s more information about how to obtain Arrid Extra Dry Clear Gel deodorant and antiperspirant – and a great alternative.

How to find Arrid Extra Dry Clear Gel

I’ve been writing about Arrid deodorant for years. When I first wrote about it in 2015 or before, it had disappeared from store shelves after many years of easy availability. I had used it for at least five or six years then, and I heard from many of you who had been using it for that long or longer.

When I wrote my first article about Arrid antiperspirant and deodorant (LINK), there wasn’t much hope for those who liked to use it. It simply wasn’t available. Occasionally, it would show up on Amazon in large quantities. Or occasionally an eBay seller would sell off some old stock, probably something they had been keeping in a warehouse for years.

Today, the news is much better. Arrid Extra Dry Clear Gel antiperspirant and deodorant is easily available from Amazon (like by clicking on this image or the product name above, both Amazon affiliate links). While it used to be readily available at Walmart and many local grocery stores, very few of them stock it anymore. But if you liked it then, you’ll still like it now. It’s worth ordering.

If you had trouble with white stains and fabric damage

If you noticed white stains or fabric damage from using Arrid or another gel antiperspirant, you’re not alone. It’s a common problem with this and many other antiperspirants, gel or not. That’s why I finally gave up on trying to find my favorite Arrid product and found something different.

I now use Degree Artic Edge Deodorant — available through this Amazon affiliate link. While Degree makes a combination of deodorant and antiperspirant like the Arrid product, this one is not a combination product. It’s a deodorant only. And that takes some getting used to. While it prevents smelling sweaty, it doesn’t prevent sweat.

Now, I don’t have a problem with white staining, hardening or other damage to the fabric. It turns out that it’s the antiperspirant ingredient that causes the fabric damage, not the deodorant part.

For years, I resisted changing to a product that didn’t contain an antiperspirant because I thought that I sweat too much to use one. But truthfully, I sweat all over. So just preventing the sweat in the underarm area doesn’t make much difference for me. I’m happy with the Degree product, and I believe you will be too if you want to prevent fabric damage and keep from smelling sweaty.

You have options again

If you prefer gel deodorant because it goes on smoothly, doesn’t leave white or yellow stains on your body and it works well for you, it’s great to know that you have the choice of the Arrid product or the Degree product. And those aren’t the only choices. Mitchum also makes a very good gel deodorant that you may want to consider. While none of these deodorants are inexpensive, they’re all affordable enough for me since they do the job.

I’ll keep writing about Arrid and other gel antiperspirants and deodorants as long as you keep reading and commenting. It’s great to know that I’m making a difference in how the world feels – and how it smells.
