Air purifiers are a great way to reduce dust and other particulate matter in the air at your home or office while also reducing odors, eliminating germs and bacteria and generally making the air around you easier to breath. But the units are often large, loud, intrusive and ugly.
I use a Honeywell air purifier at my office because the company makes a model that meets my needs. In my case, the Honeywell HHT-011 is perfect for putting on a side table in my office. That way, I don’t have an air purifier taking up floor space. It helps that it has a clean, simple look that fits well into my office’s overall appearance.
There are other Honeywell air purifiers of all shapes and sizes designed for a variety of applications. Perhaps the best advice I can give you about air cleaners is to choose a model that fit the purpose. Don’t just buy the cheapest one and make it work.
Also, look for any special features you may want. This model, for example, has a washable pre-filter that gets out the large particles. If you work around a lot of dust and dirt or live on a gravel road, for example this large filter can help make your fine particle filter last longer and can keep those big particles from getting into your unit’s mechanism and causing it to fail sooner than it should.
I’ve used a number of different air purifiers though the years, but the Honeywell HHT-011 with the permanent HEPA filter is a simple, good-looking and low-maintenance unit I just turn on and leave on. When used in conjunction with a fan to also help circulate the air in the room, it does a great job of keeping the air clean, keeping the dust down and keeping me happy. It might be the right choice for you too.
